Week 2 Best Bets

Last week got off to a great start with a win in the season opener for Denver. It looked as though the Titans were going to seal a winning week. They were controlling the game before Marcus Mariota turned into Mark Sanchez and threw the game away in the space of about five minutes, leaving us at 1-2 for Week One. But we get back on the horse this week with another bet on the defending champions as well as a couple of underdogs.

Broncos -6 vs Colts

Trevor Siemian may not be a great quarterback, but he is a better fit in Gary Kubiak’s offence than either of last season’s quarterbacks and is good enough for the team to win games with the talent throughout the rest of the roster, particularly on defence.

As mentioned last week, the Broncos have lost just three regular season games at home over the past three seasons.

Andrew Luck looked like he was back to being the Luck of 2014, but there are still so many holes in this Colts team. The Broncos should win this one comfortably and cover the six point spread.

Vikings +2.5 vs Packers

This Vikings defence may just be the best in the league. With the offence faltering in week one, the defence took over the game and capitalised on two errors from Marcus Mariota to turn the game around.

Minnesota are 8-0 against the spread in their last 8 games as well as 6-0 ATS in their past 6 home games.

Sam Bradford looks set to start in week two. Although he has his own limitations, he will be an upgrade on Shaun Hill. The pressure should be off him behind a strong offensive line and with Adrian Peterson drawing most of the attention of the Packers defence. This Vikings team has enough to get the win against their NFC north rivals.

Chiefs +2.5 @ Texans

This game feels similar to the Broncos vs Panthers last week, what has changed so much from the playoff games? Obviously the Texans now have Osweiler, but personally, I’m not a believer. I don’t think he is a big enough upgrade to make up such a big gap between the teams.

The Chiefs got off to a slow start last week against the Chargers but roared back to win in overtime. They can carry that momentum into this game and get the win against a team that could be a rival for a wildcard spot at the end of the season.
