The Gridiron Gentlemen’s Super Fun Prediction League: Week 3

After a crazy week 2, the Gents tentatively step up to attempt their week 3 predictions. So far it’s been kind of a shambles… Last week only I had 8 correct predictions. Let’s take a look at where that leaves us.

So let’s take a look at what we’ll get wrong in week 3, with Alex joining in the fun. Despite all of our eliminators going horrifically wrong last week, we’ve still decided to carry on. Once again, these are all in Capitals.

 

Washington @ New York Giants

We start off as always with the Thursday game, which has already happened. So here are our predictions that were put together on this week’s pod.

 

 

 

 

Oakland Raiders @ Cleveland Browns

This was one of our games of the week after both teams won surprise matchups in week 2. This means one of these teams will pick up a winning record, which mean a much better start this year for the Raiders, or maybe not…

 

 

 

 

Atlanta Falcons @ Dallas Cowboys

We’ve fallen for this Falcons team, but last year Dallas surprised everyone with being one play away from being in the NFC Championship. But with no Romo or Dez, can this team pull off a shock against Atlanta?

 

 

 

 

Chicago Bears @ Seattle Seahawks

TRAINWRECK OF THE WEEK! No Cutler, no Alshon, no chance. Kam Chancellor comes back in a potential easy win for the Seahawks. This could be really ugly

 

 

 

 

San Francisco 49ers @ Arizona Cardinals

The Niners stumbled last week after a great performance week one. The Cards have look like as sharp a team as I’ve ever seen. Unsurprisingly we’ve all gone…

 

 

 

 

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Houston Texans 

Tampa proved us all wrong last week by putting in one of the best defensive performances I’ve seen from them in a very long time. They go up against a smarting Texans team this week, but surely we think they’ll get the win? right?

 

 

 

 

Indianapolis Colts @ Tennessee Titans

From what I’ve seen from Indianapolis they are a trainwreck. This week they go up against a heavily hyped Titans team that struggled against a resurgent Johnny Manziel, so who takes the edge in the division matchup here?

 

 

 

 

Kansas City Chiefs @ Green Bay Packers 

Personally I think both these teams have great seasons, so this could be one of the week’s best matchups. So can the Chiefs recover from a painful last minute loss to the Broncos?

 

 

 

 

Pittsburgh Steelers @ St Louis Rams

The Rams looked like the team we were expecting last week, seemingly struggling to move the ball against a much better Washington team than any of the Gents were expecting. Pittsburgh offence looks like one of the best in the league. Now they’ve got the Gents number one running back, back.

 

 

 

 

New Orleans Saints @ Carolina Panthers

New Orleans tactics simply aren’t working. Now without Drew Brees they go up against a Panthers team that seems to have everything going their way. This could get messy.

 

 

 

 

Jacksonville Jaguars @ New England Patriots

There is no doubt that the Jags silenced a few critics with a great win against the Dolphins last week. This Patriots team is something special though, with a Tom Brady in the form of his life and with more sacks than any other team. But you never know…

 

 

 

 

Detroit Lions @ Denver Broncos

Battle of the QBs that I think might be done. The difference here could be an epic Broncos defence taking advantage of a QB that cannot stop getting hit.

 

 

 

 

San Diego Chargers @ Minnesota Vikings

Two teams here that were heavily touted pre-season attempt to pick up a winning record. Both teams have looked good, but not without flaws. Potential barnstormer in this matchup.

 

 

 

 

Cincinnati Bengals @ Baltimore Ravens

Pre-Season I had the Ravens being the pride of the AFC North. In the 1st two games however the Bengals have looked great. But they do this every season, right? Well this week we have an ultimate ‘are they who we think they are’ game, going up against a division opponent that is desperate for a win.

 

 

 

 

Philadelphia Eagles @ New York Jets

Can they really be that bad? Are they as woeful as last week’s performance suggests? Well it’s not getting better this week against a defence that is designed to stop the no huddle offence in it’s tracks. This week we get to see if defences finally have the plan in place to stop the Chip Kelly offence, with big defensive backs. This could be rough game for “the Genius”.

 

 

 

 

Buffalo Bills @ Miami Dolphins

Pre-Season both teams were hotly tipped to beat the Patriots to the AFC East title. Now they’re both trying to avoid a losing record. Could this be a good matchup for a Dolphins defence that has failed to get it going? Or could the Bills show that defensive coordinators have nailed how to deal with fast paced, no huddle offences.
